Zentech Awarded Detail Engineering Contract by International Maritime Industries (IMI) of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, November 9, 2022 HOUSTON, TEXAS – Houston-based marine engineering firm, Zentech Inc. has been awarded a detailed design engineering contract, by International Maritime Industries (IMI) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for the construction of IMI-2030 Class of Jack-up drilling rigs. IMI has one of the biggest shipyards in the world to build drilling rigs, Ships, Boats, Barges, and various other types of offshore vessels. IMI plans to build 18 of these Class of Jack-up drilling rigs in its Shipyard. Zentech will perform the detailed engineering design of all structures and systems and deliver fabrication drawings to IMI.  The detailed design will entail all construction details allowing IMI to build the rig(s) in its own shipyard. Structures will include Hull, Quarters, Helideck, Cantilever package, Drill Floor, Legs, and Spud Cans including foundations for all equipment. The detailed design will meet the rules and specifications of Saudi Aramco Schedule G, ARO, IMI, ABS, and the Basic design basis.  Systems will include all Piping, Electrical and Instrumentation, and HVAC systems. Zentech is producing the detailed design in agreement with the operational and construction team of IMI and its Client ARO. HOUSTON, TX (March 13, 2021) – After having completed the FEED study, Zentech Inc has been awarded the Shipyard Construction Specification Preparation contract for the Conversion of the Jack-up Rig ‘Hibiscus Alpha’ (ex- BORR Rig “ATLA”) to an Offshore Installation for BW Energy. This conversion by BW Energy will result in a state-of-the-art production facility for deployment in West Africa.. The Zentech Project Management Team has carried out the management of similar MOPU conversions in shipyards on an EPIC basis and will allocate the most experienced resources for the successful completion of this project.

Zentech is currently doing the Detail Engineering Study for the Jack-up conversion into an Offshore Installation (OI) for a 20-year operation in the field, as per the rules and regulations for ABS Classification Society as part of an earlier contract with BWE. Zentech has also been contracted by BWE to develop the Construction Specification document as part of developing the ITT will be issued to various shipyards in the Middle East.

HOUSTON, TX (November 9, 2020) – Zentech Inc has been awarded the Structural Engineering scope for the conversion of a Jack-up Rig to an Offshore Installation for BW Energy. Prior to the acquisition, Zentech carried out an engineering study and survey onboard the Jack-up Drilling Rig, ATLA, as part of an initial study to identify the feasibility of the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU) in the field. Zentech will carry out all structural engineering for the conversion to an Offshore Installation (OI) as per the rules and regulations for ABS Classification Society. This milestone ensures the vessel will receive a state-of-the-art production facility that will help in the advancement of innovative technology in marginal field development. This will also mark the first deployment of an OI for BW Energy. The OI will provide the field owner the capability of having a Production Facility installation for a significantly reduced cost compared to a traditional platform structure.
